How to infuse joy into a virtual employee recognition event in the time of COVID? We were approached by Kimberly-Clark to work with them on a set of Connection Kits for theirs. Like most events at this time, it needed to be a virtual event to keep everyone safe. Realizing the importance of the real, our goal was to provide a fun tactile experience that would help bring some life to the party, inspire connection and warm hearts. They wanted to have three separate themes from which the employees could select. We brainstormed both core items that would be included in every Kit regardless of the theme and along with select items for each type of Kit. The three Kit themes were Living Green, Fun & Games, and Small Indulgences.
Living Green Event Kit
This event Kit contained a solar USB charger, two sealable and reusable food bags with punny affirmations, a blue ribbon for attendees to make their own 2020 merit badge, a pair of wool dryer balls, a new years party hat, a client-branded notebook, and facemask, and a postcard with a gratitude prompt on one side and an expression of thanks for the company to its team on the other.
Fun & Games Event Kit
This event Kit contained a hands-on dimensional brain puzzle, a pocket card game, Mad Libs, a gel pen, a blue ribbon for attendees to make their own 2020 merit badge, a new years party hat, a client-branded notebook and facemask, and a postcard with a gratitude prompt on one side and an expression of thanks for the company to its team on the other.
Small Indulgences Event Kit
This event Kit contained a sea salt chocolate bar, an aromatherapy candle, a bath bomb, some coloring sheets with metallic markers, a blue ribbon for attendees to make their own 2020 merit badge, a new years party hat, a client-branded notebook and facemask, and a postcard with a gratitude prompt on one side and an expression of thanks for the company to its team on the other.
